Restorative Yoga

April 17th, 2008

In these classes, we work deeply with your breath to relax your body in fully supported, restful postures.  If you’re recovering from injury/ illness, are worn out, have a weakened immune system, are suffering any of the stresses and strains of modern living or would just like to try a more heart-centred approach to yoga  - this class is for you.  Classes are structured around classical Hatha Yoga, with some essential refinements to give your body and mind time to renew and heal ~

•    Deep guided relaxation in fully supported postures to help settle into the class.
•    Restorative breathing techniques taught as both an integrated practice and a separate portion of the class.
•    Soft flowing stretch sequences alternated with moderately challenging postures and then resting and relaxing into fully supported postures for longer periods than usually experienced in yoga classes.  We’ll build strength, sustain flexibility and gently soothe away any aches and pains you may be carrying.
•    Guided meditation to teach objectivity, cultivate calm, lift the spirit.
•    Conscious relaxation to consolidate the benefits of the class.

These classes are designed to make the teachings accessible and to give you the tools to take your yoga experience from the class setting, into your homes and daily lives.

    Hi,
I’ve had CFS for 11 years, been sick at home for seven years, but am familiar with yoga from when I was well and active. I’m interested in the restorative class.

Is it running at present? Is the room kept pretty warm?! My strength/energy varies from day to day but is generally very low.
    cheers
    Sian
