Yoga Heads
May 10th, 2007This is really a game for ages 8+
Yoga heads is similar to celebrity heads. You get a few children out the front (usually 2 or three depending on the size of the class) I then write or draw a yoga pose that gets attached to a headband. The children with the head bands then take it in turns to ask the other children questions that might revile what yoga pose is on their head band.
You might find that you need to help them out with the kinds of questions that they can ask like
- Am I an animal?
- Is my pose a standing pose?
- Is my pose found in nature?
- Does my pose have four parts of the body touching the ground?
- Is my pose alive?
- Have we done my yoga pose in class today?
Some of the children come up with some really good questions and I usually find that this game starts to get the children to group poses together in their heads.
Other children’s yoga games you can play are … Giants treasure, Yoga poision ball, Musical Mats, Triangle Tiggy, Upset the crocodile, The knot, I went to a yoga class and I did,
