Triangle Tiggy

May 10th, 2007

Triangle tiggy is basically the same as scarecrow tiggy but instead of pretending to be scarecrows when you have been tagged the children pretend to be triangles.

One player is “it” I am usually the person that is “it”, simply because I it means I don’t have to single a child out and I can also make sure that all the children are tagged roughly evenly.
I run around and tag the children when a the child has been tagged they have to get into triangle pose and stay very very still until one of the other children who has not yet been tagged crawls under a triangles legs. When the child has been freed they join back into the game.

Other children’s yoga games you can play are … Giants treasure, Yoga poision ball, Musical  Mats, Triangle Tiggy, Upset the crocodile, The knot, I went to a yoga class and I did, Yoga heads

Hi I play a similar version called ‘Lions Den Tiggy’, A child becomes the ‘lion’ who is it. The other children turn into a different animal of the jungle, i.e monkey, elephants, snakes etc. When tagged the child makes a ‘down dog’ pose which symbolises the mouth of the ‘lions den’. The other children free them by crawling through. A very good exercise to use for hyper excited kids.
